I carried a baby for my sister and her husband, but the moment they saw the little girl, they broke down and said, “This is not the child we wanted.” Right then, I decided to teach them a lesson they would never forget.

“She was mine for nine long months while she grew beneath my heart,” I stated with absolute certainty. “She is mine now, and she will remain mine for the rest of my life.”

Samantha took a step toward me, her voice rising in pitch. “Think about what you are doing to our family dynamic, Alison! Think about what this does to me! I am still your sister!”

Then she uttered the disgusting phrase that sealed her fate forever: “Just give her up for adoption to strangers so I do not have to be forced to look at her every time I visit your house.”

“You completely ceased being my sister the moment you assigned a price tag to a newborn baby’s life,” I replied, grabbing the handle of the infant carrier with a firm grip.

Ronald’s jaw tightened, his voice dropping an octave as he issued a stern warning. “If you decide to keep that child, do not expect a single cent of financial support from either of us for diapers, medical bills, or food.”
