I carried a baby for my sister and her husband, but the moment they saw the little girl, they broke down and said, “This is not the child we wanted.” Right then, I decided to teach them a lesson they would never forget.

Part 1: The Request

My sister pleaded with me to carry the child she believed she could never bring into the world, and I gave her every single piece of my strength. She was right beside me at every single medical consultation, holding my hand tightly while tears of relief overflowed when she felt that tiny kick against my palm.

She whispered continuously that the little soul growing inside my belly was her ultimate miracle, and for many endless months, I genuinely believed I was bestowing upon her the most profound blessing of her whole existence.

Then came the exact moment she caught her first glimpse of the baby inside the delivery ward, stepping backward in complete terror as if staring at a nightmare. She looked at the tiny newborn and said that this was not the child they wanted, and those cold words completely shattered my reality forever.

I used to believe that I understood every single layer of my sister’s heart and mind. Growing up in the quiet suburban neighborhoods of Columbus, Ohio, my twin sister Samantha and I were treated as two halves of a single heart, or at least that was the exact phrase our late father always loved to repeat whenever he watched us play together. Wherever Samantha wandered, I followed without a second thought, and whenever I hit rock bottom, she was always standing right there to lift me back onto my feet.
