Following Dolly’s passing, Miley shared an emotional tribute alongside a black-and-white image of her.
“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share,” Miley wrote.
“Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.”
Rather than reveal those memories, Miley offered a glimpse at what she believed Dolly would want her to do next.

Miley also revealed that one of her final conversations with Dolly centered on two subjects that now seem especially significant:
