I carried a baby for my sister and her husband, but the moment they saw the little girl, they broke down and said, “This is not the child we wanted.” Right then, I decided to teach them a lesson they would never forget.

“We will be filing a massive lawsuit against the fertility clinic first thing tomorrow morning,” Ronald added coldly, checking his wristwatch. “They guaranteed us a male embryo, so this child is entirely their legal and financial responsibility, not ours.”
Part 4: The Abandonment

Something deep inside my soul snapped as I listened to their cold, calculated assessment of a defenseless infant. “A mistake? You stand there talking about this innocent baby girl as if she were a defective product that you can just return to a store shelf!”

“Alison, you simply do not comprehend the magnitude of this situation,” Ronald attempted to argue, taking another step back toward the hallway.

“I comprehend enough to know that you two are abandoning the miracle you begged me to create!” I shouted back, gently patting the baby’s back as she began to cry from the harsh noise in the room.

I looked down at the beautiful little girl resting against my heartbeat, and a sudden, unwavering resolve took root in my mind. “I am not going to let either of you lay a single finger on her, nor am I going to let you push her away into the system.”
