Home Entertainment Game Technology Advertisement Part 2: For eight years, my parents made me leave the house every time my brother brought his fiance over; Mom said, “She comes from a good family, don’t embarrass us”; Dad added, “Just disappear for the weekend”; I did; then one weekend, I never came back; it took them four years to find out where I went.

The call ended.

***

I sat motionless for several minutes.

Then I called Detective Grant.

I told him everything.

He asked me to preserve the call details and advised me not to contact my father again.

I agreed.

But that night, sleep wouldn't come.

I kept seeing Nina.

The recorder in her hand.

The way she stood between me and my father.

Then, just before dawn, I remembered something.

Not a complete memory.

A fragment.

My bedroom.

A lamp burning beside the bed.

My mother crying.

My father standing near the door.

And someone else.

A boy.

Younger than me.

Maybe twelve or thirteen.

He was sitting on the floor.

His face was frightened.

I could hear my father saying:

*Stacey, if you love him, you'll keep quiet.*

I sat up suddenly.

My heart was pounding.

A boy?

What boy?

I had no brothers.

No younger cousins who lived with us.
