Part 2: Before my husband passed away, he asked me to deliver a sealed letter to a woman I'd never met — after she read the first line, she looked at me and asked, "Did he tell you everything?"

Then Rebecca spoke again.

Her voice was strained.

"Two babies."

I looked at her.

"What?"

She touched Emily's hand.

Then pointed toward me.

"Two girls."

My heartbeat quickened.

Rebecca began crying.

"One went home."

She looked directly at me.

"The other..."

Her voice broke.

"Didn't die."

I stopped breathing.

My child.

The baby I'd given birth to.

Rebecca knew something about her.

I leaned forward.

"Where is she?"

Rebecca tried to answer.

But her hands began trembling.

She looked toward Catherine.

Her face filled with fear.

Then she whispered one word.

"House."

Catherine looked away.

I noticed.

And for the first time, I wondered whether she had another secret.

Outside the facility, I stopped beside her car.

"Catherine, what house did Rebecca mean?"

She shook her head.

"I don't know."

I stared at her.

"Please."

Her expression crumpled.

"There is something I haven't told you."

My stomach tightened.

She looked toward the hospital windows.
