“You’re sixty-three years old!” Jessica snapped. “You looked ridiculous!”
I smiled.
“And yet somehow I’m old enough to be ridiculous, but not too old for you to accept my money every month.”
Silence.
Absolute silence.
Jessica’s face turned bright red.
Michael slowly looked away.
I stood up, picked up my beach bag, and slipped my sunglasses onto my face.
Before leaving, I looked at Jessica one last time.
“You were right about one thing.”
She stared at me.
“I shouldn’t be embarrassed.”
Psychology
Then I smiled.
“And starting today, I’m not.”
I walked toward the beach wearing the exact same bikini.
My sister burst out laughing and followed me.
And behind us, for the first time all week, Jessica didn’t have a single thing to say. 😳🔥
