Home Entertainment Game Technology Advertisement Part 2: For eight years, my parents made me leave the house every time my brother brought his fiance over; Mom said, “She comes from a good family, don’t embarrass us”; Dad added, “Just disappear for the weekend”; I did; then one weekend, I never came back; it took them four years to find out where I went.

Ben sat down.

Then opened the box.

Inside was an old cassette recorder.

Not the device Nina carried in the hospital.

A different one.

A battered silver machine with a cracked plastic cover.

Ben looked at me.

"Nina sent this to our aunt before she died."

My heart pounded.

"What's on it?"

He swallowed.

"A message she recorded at the hospital."

He pressed PLAY.

For several seconds, there was only static.

Then a young woman's voice filled the room.

"Ben?"

My throat tightened.

Nina.

Her voice was soft.

Frightened.

But unmistakably alive.

"If you're hearing this, I need you to know I love you."

Ben began crying.

The recording continued.

"There's a girl here named Stacey."

My hands shook.

"She's not crazy. They keep telling her she is, but she's not."

I covered my mouth.

Nina took a shaky breath.

"She's frightened. Her parents keep coming in and asking the doctors to change things."
