“Every Time I Left the House, My Husband Closed the Kitchen Door and Told My 8-Year-Old Daughter, ‘Good Girl, Just Like That. Keep Moving Your Hands. Don’t Stop. A Little More, Until You Finish.’ When I Asked My Daughter What They Were Doing While I Was Away, She Whispered Fearfully, ‘Mommy, John Told Me Not to Tell You Anything.’”

I started crying again.

At that moment, I realized that John had never tried to erase David’s memory.

Instead, he had brought back one of our family’s most precious memories.

Years later, Emily still plays that same piano.

And every Sunday, John carefully cleans the frame of David’s photograph.

Today, there are photographs of two men in our home.

One is my first husband, who gave me my daughter.

The other is John, who helped us find our smiles again.

And I’m no longer afraid to be happy.

❤️ What would you have done in my place? Would you have been worried if you discovered that your husband had asked your child to keep a secret from you? And could you love a man who respects the memory of your first husband without trying to replace him? Share your thoughts in the comments. 👇❤️
