#PART 3 – ENDED — THE MAN WHO CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD**

Elias turned the rifle towards him.

"Slowly."

David pulled out a folded page.

A second disc.

He put it on the floor.

Mara took her.

His eyes are enlarged.

“What is this?”

“A confession from my mother.”

Elias didn't move.

Mara read aloud.

Eleanor Vance Creed married Silas at nineteen.

She gave birth to David seven years later.

But before that marriage, she had given birth to another son.

A child born to a young blacksmith named Thomas Vance.

  • Elias.

The room fell quietly.

Elias almost laughed.

Thomas Vance was my father after all.

“Yes,” David said.

“And Silas falsified the other file.”

"Yes."

“Why?”

“Because he needs you to think you’re his son.”

Mara suddenly understood.

“To make Elias part of the line of the Creed.”

David nodded.

“So the wife of the twins becomes invalid.”

Elias looked at the window.

Silas didn't need the girls to die.
