My Sister Wore White to My Wedding… But She Didn’t Know the Dress Was a Trap

They say, “Is it true your sister wore white?”

I always say yes.

Then they ask, “Were you furious?”

I tell them the truth.

“Yes. But fury wasn’t the end of the story.”

Because that is what I learned.

Some people will hurt you on purpose.

Some apologies will come late.

Some wounds will not disappear just because someone finally understands they caused them.

Forgiveness is not a doorway you owe everyone.

Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is lock it.

But sometimes, when the person on the other side is not demanding entry, not breaking the handle, not blaming you for the wall, but simply standing there with shaking hands and the truth in their mouth…

Sometimes you open it.

Not all the way.

Just enough to let light through.

My sister wore white to my wedding.

She thought she was stealing my spotlight.

But the dress was never really a trap for her.
