“Why?”
“Because someone sent evidence to the board this afternoon.”
“What evidence?”
“Copies of the Northline invoices. Hotel records. Personal messages between Adrian and Claire.”
My heart thudded.
“Who sent them?”
“Anonymous account.”
Bianca stepped away from the door.
“It wasn’t me.”
No one had accused her.
Priya looked at her sharply.
“Why say that?”
“Because I knew about tonight.”
I rose.
“How?”
“Adrian asked me to arrange the suite. He also told me to remove Elena’s name from the gala list.”
“You said he changed the list.”
“He did. I processed it.”
“And you didn’t question why his wife was being excluded?”
Bianca pressed her lips together.
“No.”
Priya folded her arms.
“What else did he ask you to do?”
“Nothing.”
“Bianca.”
The secretary’s shoulders dropped.
“He told me that if anyone asked, Claire was attending as a representative of Northline.”
“But you called her his wife.”
