My Husband Left Me After His Vasectomy, But the Ultrasound Revealed the Truth He Wasn’t Ready to Face

I remained on the examination table, feeling the cold gel against my skin while my heart pounded.

“So,” I murmured, “could the baby have been conceived before the vasectomy?”

Dr. Salinas looked at me with unexpected gentleness.

“Not only could it be. Based on current data, it is the most likely scenario.”

Diego lowered his eyes.

He stared at the floor instead of looking at me.

The same man who had accused me of betraying him could not bring himself to face the woman he had condemned without understanding the medical facts.

Then Dr. Salinas moved the ultrasound transducer again.

Her expression changed.

Not because she was alarmed.

Because she had noticed something unexpected.

“Wait,” she said.

My breath caught.

“What is it?”

She enlarged the ultrasound image.

Paola folded her arms.

Diego looked up.

Dr. Salinas pointed toward another area of the screen.

“Here is another gestational sac.”

I couldn’t move.
