I ignored every call.
That evening, I met the attorney my mother had recommended.
Her name was Irene Robles.
She was in her fifties, with sharp, observant eyes and carefully painted red fingernails.
I told her everything.
She listened without appearing particularly surprised.
Instead, she took detailed notes.
“Did he sign anything about the vasectomy?”
“I have messages. He told me he would have it done because he did not want more children for now, but that we would see later.”
“Did he go to the follow-up appointment?”
“No.”
“Do you have proof of the relationship with Paola?”
I showed her the photographs, social media posts, and older messages.
Irene raised an eyebrow.
“What a polite mistress.”
“Quite.”
She reviewed the documents Diego’s lawyer had sent me.
“We are going to respond to his divorce petition. We will request measures to protect you financially during your pregnancy. We will also document the defamation, the abandonment, and the pressure to sign an abusive agreement.”
