I Asked My Coworker to Be My Date to My Ex-Husband’s Wedding—What Happened Next Changed Everything

Now my part, and this is the whole of it.

My solicitor told me.

Ms Rutherford. Four times, in writing twice.

In the September she said, in a meeting, that she would like somebody to look at Brackley properly before I signed anything.

She said it would take about four weeks and that she could not properly advise me on a settlement without it.

And I said no.

Not angrily. Pleasantly. I said something about not wanting to drag it out, and she wrote four lines in a file note which I have now read.

The second time, in the October, she said it again and put a figure on what those four weeks would cost. About eleven hundred dollars.

And I said no again, and this time I said it in writing, in an email of about four lines, which she also kept.

The third time she rang me.
