Harvesting Peace

A few months later, our finances took an unexpected turn when Marian’s old sedan broke down completely 🚘. The repair bills were astronomical, and we realized we needed a reliable vehicle for our retirement years. We had to carefully evaluate our options to make sure our savings stayed intact while managing our monthly expenses.

We looked into getting a car loan and explored different full coverage car insurance options to ensure we were completely protected on the road without overspending 💳. By budgeting carefully and eliminating unnecessary expenditures—including the hundreds of lei we used to spend on extra seeds, fertilizers, and canning jars for Doina—we easily afforded a clean, safe crossover.

Now, our back garden is a peaceful sanctuary filled with vibrant colors and rich scents 🌺. In the late afternoons, Marian and I sit on the porch with our tea, watching the bees hover over the blooming lavender. The heavy sacks of potatoes are a distant memory, replaced finally by the quiet dignity of a balanced life.
