Another while I stood at the counter feeding Emma.
Another while I sat on the couch looking exhausted.
Then I saw what Ryan had written.
“Remember what she looked like when we got married? Guys, this is just a disaster…”
Glen responded with laughing emojis.
My hands started shaking.
I kept scrolling.
I should have stopped.
I didn’t.
Then I saw the message that broke something inside me.
“She looks like a baby elephant. I don’t know how I’m supposed to keep living with her. I’m not attracted to her at all anymore.”
For a few seconds, I couldn’t breathe.
Emma was asleep against my chest.
Her tiny cheek rested just beneath my collarbone.
I looked down at her.
Then back at the screen.
There was another message.
“Brothers, never get married unless the woman signs a contract promising to watch her figure for the rest of her life.”
