“I Was Drunk and Mistakenly Took My Gateman to My Bedroom, Thinking He Was My Husband…”

SWEET TEMPTATION

“I Was Drunk and Mistakenly Took My Gateman to My Bedroom, Thinking He Was My Husband…”

EPISODE 5

Men should stop treating their wives badly or acting as if they own them completely. Sometimes, it is a husband’s harsh attitude that leaves a loving and submissive wife emotionally vulnerable. That was exactly what happened to me. I didn’t only become vulnerable to my gateman, but I also found myself craving his attention because he treated me with more kindness than my own husband ever did. The care he showed me meant more than expensive gifts or sweet promises.

Whenever I was in the kitchen preparing vegetables, he would quietly come around and offer to help. Those little moments brightened my lonely days, especially whenever my husband travelled for business. I had refused to let my husband employ a full-time housemaid because I was always afraid another woman might get too close to him. Instead, we had a cleaner who came every morning, cleaned the house, and left afterwards.

My responsibilities were mainly cooking, washing the dishes, and handling a few personal chores. Although the cleaner did most of the laundry, I still washed my personal clothes, especially my delicate items. I was also expected to take my dresses to the dry cleaner and my car to the car wash, but because I was still annoyed with my gateman over what had happened, I deliberately gave him extra errands from time to time. It was my own childish way of getting back at him.

As the days passed, everything changed.

The more I thought about everything that had happened between us, the more my attitude toward him changed. Somehow, he began occupying a special place in my heart, especially after I became convinced that he was the father of the child growing inside me. It was a secret I carried deep within my heart. Not even my closest friend knew about it, and I had already decided that if necessary, I would take that secret with me to my grave.

My gateman soon noticed the difference in the way I treated him. Instead of serving his meals in the usual plastic plates, I started serving him on proper breakable dishes. I even placed a clean glass of water beside his food.

Whenever my husband wasn’t at home, I invited him to eat in the living room instead of outside, so he could sit close to me while we talked. Those moments made me happier than I cared to admit.

I didn’t know how to tell him that I had developed feelings for him. After all, he was only my gateman, and I was a married woman. I simply hoped he would notice the little signs and understand what I couldn’t bring myself to say.

But one afternoon, everything changed.

As I walked toward the compound, I overheard him speaking softly on the phone. From the gentle tone of his voice, I immediately assumed he was talking to another woman. Jealousy suddenly filled my heart.

Then I heard him mention me.

The way he spoke about me to the person on the other end made my heart sink. I stood there quietly, listening to every word, feeling strangely hurt; almost as if he truly belonged to me.

At that very moment, I knew I had to do something that would finally make him notice I wanted his attention.
