Geno Mueller, an 8-year-old from Avon Lake, Ohio, continues to defy medical odds, having survived multiple heart surgeries and strokes.
AVON LAKE, Ohio — He wasn’t supposed to survive being born. Now, an Ohio boy who’s beaten the odds again and again is teaching his family — and everyone who meets him — a lesson in living.
Geno Mueller, 8, has a medical history most adults will never have to face. Two open-heart surgeries. A pacemaker since he was three months old. And now, two strokes before his ninth birthday.
But ask his parents, Bo and Adrienne Mueller, what stands out most about their son, and it isn’t the diagnoses.
“He’s such a loving kid and a happy kid, and he has so much empathy for other people,” Bo said.
