Standing with the Zink Family in Their Time of Need

Law enforcement is more than a profession—it is a calling. It is a life of sacrifice, service, courage, and commitment. As a law enforcement wife, I have witnessed firsthand the burdens our officers carry every single day. They miss birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, family gatherings, and countless milestones because they have chosen to answer a greater call: protecting our communities.

Every shift begins with uncertainty. They respond to calls with no way of knowing what awaits them. They witness tragedy, loss, violence, and heartbreak. They comfort strangers during the worst moments of their lives while quietly carrying the weight of those experiences themselves. Too often, they are expected to be strong, to push through, and to set aside their own emotions so they can continue serving others.
Behind every badge is a human being—a husband or wife, a mother or father, a son or daughter, a friend. They experience fear, grief, stress, and heartache just like anyone else, yet they continue to put on the uniform with honor and courage, asking for nothing more than the opportunity to return home safely to the people they love.

Today, one of our own needs us.
On July 3, we unexpectedly lost Officer Dustin Zink. Dustin was an exceptional law enforcement officer, K-9 handler, husband, father, son, friend, and partner. He dedicated his life to serving others with bravery, compassion, and unwavering commitment.

His passing has left behind an unimaginable void for his wife, Danielle; their two young children; his mother; his sister; his K-9 partner, Atos; and countless family members, friends, and fellow officers who loved him deeply. The loss is felt deep.

As a law enforcement family, we know how to stand beside one another in times of need. Now it is our turn to surround the Zink family with the same love and support that Dustin gave to so many throughout his career.
If you are able, please consider donating to help ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly to the Zink family to assist with funeral expenses, household bills, meals, and any other needs they may face as they navigate the days and months ahead.

If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Danielle, their children, and the entire Zink family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for helping us honor Dustin’s life, his service, his sacrifice, and the legacy of love he leaves behind. Your kindness, generosity, and support will remind this family that they do not have to walk this journey alone.

Please continue to keep the Zink family and all of Dustin’s brothers and sisters in blue in your prayers.
