The pop superstar and her football star fiancé finally said their vows in front of the biggest crowd of famous friends either of them has ever assembled in one room, and the night ended up producing far more storylines than just the couple at the altar.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, both 36, married at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, July 3, 2026, and the celebration that followed left plenty for guests and now fans to talk about.

Beyond the ceremony itself, the night included a legendary surprise performance, an unofficial fashion competition netizens are still arguing over, and even a lighthearted rule about what not to bring as a gift.

Swift and Kelce turned an arena built for concerts and championship games into the backdrop for their wedding, and it looked nothing like its usual self by the time guests arrived.

“It looked like a forest,” an insider told People exclusively, describing ferns and full-sized trees filling the space while every seat in the arena disappeared under white fabric.

When it came time for the ceremony itself, the singer walked toward a stage where she and the star quarterback delivered vows running close to 20 minutes each, both reading from matching gold-bound books.

Guests had been given embroidered handkerchiefs in advance, a small hint of how emotional the room was expected to get.

The night didn’t stop once the vows ended. “After the ceremony, Taylor’s mom invited everyone into the reception room where a stage was set up,” the source revealed, adding that Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand” while Stevie Nicks also took a turn in front of the crowd.

Guests moved between food stations serving Italian dishes and sushi, and passed trays, with bars set up throughout the reception. Even with the size of the venue working in their favor, the source says the party still felt incredibly crowded.

A representative for Swift confirmed the marriage on Friday evening in a statement that also detailed the couple’s wedding day fashion.

“The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s, and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom. There was no traditional bridal party. Instead, the statement explained, Austin Swift stood in as his sister’s Man of Honor, Jason Kelce served as his brother’s Best Man, and the couple’s friend Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.

Details stayed locked down in the lead-up to the wedding, though one guest let a small piece slip. George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers told Extra that attendees were told to bring “absolutely no gifts.”

So, with that many stars packed into one arena, a handful of individual moments were bound to become stories of their own.

Not everyone stayed for the whole night. Tom Brady was photographed leaving the reception hours before it wrapped, spotted with his head down in the back seat of a car pulling away from Madison Square Garden, according to ag 6

He looked the part regardless, dressed in a classic black suit and tie for the occasion. Still, his expression in those photos got people talking on fb “Why is he sad,” one comment read, followed by another that simply stated, “He looks sad.”
